Barrister Akeem Agbaje, a highly esteemed and accomplished lawyer, has been appointed as the National Patron of the Asiwaju Coalition of Yoruba Youths (ACYY), a role he undoubtedly merits due to his exceptional qualities and invaluable contributions to the community.

This is contained in a statement signed by Mallam Ayinde Akorede, the National Coordinator of the group, and made available to the press, following a visit by the Oyo State Chapter of ACYY to Barrister Agbaje on Wednesday. 


In attendance at the meeting were Comrade Hammed Abiola Sadeeq, Oyo State Coordinator, Comrade Sulaimon Lawal, State Publicity Relations Officer, Mrs. Timileyin Olamoyegun, Comrade Akanni Muhammed, Secretary, and Comrade Alli Abiola, National Publicity Secretary.


Upon receiving his certificate of recognition, Barrister Akeem Agbaje expressed gratitude for the acknowledgement of his efforts. He noted that his appointment as National Patron of ACYY emphasizes the importance of empowering the youth and fostering a collaborative relationship between the government and the governed.

"Ensuring open communication, fostering valuable feedback, and maintaining transparency are key to effective governance," he stated. "Addressing the challenges faced by the youth requires prioritizing the creation of an enabling environment and infrastructure to empower local talent rather than relying on imported labour."


Barrister Agbaje also commended President Bola Tinubu's administration, emphasizing that "Transparency is crucial in any organization, and President Bola Tinubu's advanced use of digital platforms is a significant step towards achieving this goal."


Earlier, Ayinde highlighted that one of the reasons Barrister Agbaje is deserving of the role of ACYY National Patron is his unwavering dedication to justice and equality. He noted that Throughout his career, Agbaje has consistently fought for the rights of marginalized and vulnerable individuals in society, utilizing his legal expertise to advocate for their well-being.


"His deep-rooted connection to the Yoruba community and his commitment to its advancement make him a natural choice for the position of Patron," Ayinde said.

"Barrister Agbaje's leadership qualities, integrity, and credibility within the legal profession and the wider community make him a respected figure whose guidance and support will be invaluable to ACYY and its members."
