Treat Your Elders With Dignity, Care- Corp Member Says

This, she said, is a common practice in many cultures for children to take care of their parents as they age, but unfortunately, this tradition seems to be fading away in today's society.

Abdulkadiri made this known in a chat with ITSALLISAY.COM.

According to her, “As a youth corps member, I have had the opportunity to work with many elderly people, and I have seen firsthand the neglect they face from their children and family members.”

“It is disheartening to see how some people treat their parents, who have sacrificed so much to raise and provide for them,” she said.

Also, the graduate of mass communication at Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, noted that “the elderly community has a wealth of knowledge and experience that we can learn from, and we must recognize their value and treat them with respect.”

"Neglecting them is not only inhumane, but it also goes against the fundamental principles of humanity."

“It is essential to understand that taking care of our elderly parents and community members is not just a moral obligation, but it is also a way to build a better future for our nation," she added.
