This momentous occasion, which took place at The Queen's School in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, was made possible through the invaluable collaboration and support of the Oyo State Ministry of Education and the management of Queen's School Ibadan.

According to Mr. Olayomade Adeyemo, the South West Coordinating Officer of the Nigeria Conservation Foundation, the event signifies a significant step in nurturing a sense of care and passion for the environment among young pupils and students.

He stated, "The NCF Environmental Education program is designed to raise awareness, promote environmental stewardship, and encourage positive actions that contribute to sustainable natural and environmental resource management. The program aims to catch pupils and students at a young age when they are most receptive to learning and developing a sense of care for the environment."

Mr. Adeyemo emphasized the importance of environmental education in today's world, where environmental challenges such as climate change, deforestation, and habitat destruction are increasingly pressing.

He further explained, "Engaging young minds through interactive activities, field trips, and workshops, the School Conservation Club program provides a platform for students to understand the interdependence between humans and the natural world."

While encouraging other schools, organizations, and individuals to support the School Conservation Club program, he emphasized that collective action is crucial to addressing environmental challenges and preserving Nigeria's rich natural heritage.

“We will be in Moret Comprehensive College opposite Adamasigba Statium next week Thursday by the Special grace of God, he added.

During the launch event, students expressed their excitement and enthusiasm for the School Conservation Club. They highlighted the importance of environmental conservation and understood the need to take responsibility for the well-being of the environment.
