Be Wary of Political Jobbers, SDP Fractional Chairman Warns Oyo APC, Folarin

By Oyeniyi Esan

A fraction of Oyo Social Democratic Party under the leadership of Yinka Folahan has kicked against the adoption of Sen. Teslim Kolawole Folarin by unknown members as the party's preferred candidate for the coming guber election.

This is disclosed during an interactive session with journalists in Ibadan on Friday that the adoption aims to mislead the general public without remorse to posterity, reputation and credibility of their personalities as political jobbers looking for daily bread.

"Looking at the political profile and history of so-called SDP members that endorsed APC guber candidate, they are aggrieved stakeholders of People's Democratic Party without political voices in the present administration, and thier best strike is to ride on our horse as a means for survival.

"SDP is not new in Oyo state with the active participation of pioneer chairman, Sunday Adelaja, and other stakeholders like Alhaji Kola Balogun and Amb. Olugbenga Curtis came together to revive from the party shackles of destruction, nothing and hopelessness in the largest congress of the party's history.

"Preaching the gospel of SDP across all the local governments is no joke, and as a writer there are instances that it took intellectual approach, like staging some of my plays to preach the core essence of politics that respect human dignity. There is no place where financial commitment is not exhibited. Now, the best strike is to rubbish Oyo SDP by using the political platform to voice.

"It is time to caution Senator Folarin and his APC to be mindful of political jobbers with purposes to destroy, divide and scatter the smooth running of other people's affairs. It is very funny that the horse's success has attracted the interest of people like Alhaja Mulikat Akande Adeola, Michael Okunlade and many others without proper consultation.

"We urge the general public to ignore, desist and avoid people with the opinion that politics is a full time job or thier last hope of relevance and survival. Proper consultation is underway to address this political move, and we won't stop until we have all hands are on desk".
