Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), has been lauded by the Hybrid Agritech Value Exchange Academy (HAVEA) for transforming agriculture across Africa through a decade of visionary leadership, innovation, and consistent drive for inclusive development.
In a congratulatory message signed by Prince Fayemi Emmanuel Abiodun, CEO of HAVEA, the Academy extended its heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Adesina for his remarkable contributions to agricultural transformation, inclusive growth, and economic empowerment across Africa.
“Over the past ten years, Dr. Adesina has guided Africa toward a future defined by shared prosperity and food security. His leadership has positively impacted countless communities and inspired a new wave of innovation and hope,” the Academy noted.
HAVEA stated that Dr. Adesina’s impactful tenure as Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture under former President Goodluck Jonathan, spearheaded critical reforms, eliminated corruption in fertilizer distribution, empowered farmers, and shifted the national conversation from subsistence farming to agribusiness development.
“Now, as President of the AfDB, Dr. Adesina has taken that vision to a continental scale. His focus on youth inclusion, agritech innovation, and infrastructure advancement has laid the groundwork for long-term development across the continent.”
The Academy described him as a model of integrity and excellence, embodying the kind of transformative leadership Africa urgently needs, noting that, “At HAVEA, Dr. Adesina’s work serves as a constant source of inspiration. We invite all Nigerians, from every region and sector, to join us in honouring a man whose legacy continues to uplift lives and inspire future generations.”
