As Dr. Akinwumi Adesina marks ten impactful years as President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), the Farmers Lives Matter Movement, a Nigeria-based advocacy group committed to amplifying the voices and rights of farmers, has described him as a “Champion of the Soil,” whose commitment to empowering rural communities has delivered tangible progress across the continent.

In a statement released on Thursday,  Prince Fayemi Emmanuel Abiodun, Founder and President of the Farmers Lives Matter Movement, noted that Dr. Adesina's groundbreaking initiatives, such as the Feed Africa strategy and Technologies for African Agricultural Transformation (TAAT), have restored dignity to farmers and reshaped the agricultural landscape in Africa.


Fayemi, who also serves as Country Director of Agric Business and Farmers International Marketplace (ABFIM), a member of Farmculture Global Resources Limited, and Chief Executive Officer of HAVEA, emphasized that Dr. Adesina has demonstrated that agriculture is not only a vital sector for food security but also a powerful business and an essential tool for wealth creation and economic transformation in African communities.
