The event offered a delicious spread of roasted yam and boli, complete with sauce, fish, beef, and ponmo, bringing together food enthusiasts across the country to indulge in the city's favorite street foods.

Speaking at the April edition, Samuel Oluwakayode, aka Prof Kay, a content creator, food influencer, and brand promoter, said the event was designed to foster a sense of community among food enthusiasts.

“We wanted to try something new – hang out, make friends, and share our passion for food in a relaxed setting, he explained to ITSALLISAY.

He added that the group's growth has been remarkable. Having begun with informal gatherings in May 2024 and officially launching in October 2024, Foodies Clan Crew's monthly event has emerged as a community that brings people together without discrimination.

“We started in October 2024 with Ewa Agoyin. November was Amala, and December was supposed to be Pounded Yam, but due to economic constraints, we switched to Amala. However, in January, we were able to do Pounded Yam. In February, we did Ekuru, and in March, we did Ofada Rice. This month, we did Roasted Yam and Boli,” he stated.

The event, which had over 100 people, featured games, a food competition, and networking opportunities, allowing business owners to connect and take their businesses to the next level. Attendees also received free gifts – books, pens, and drinks – courtesy of Rite Foods Limited.

Foodies Clan Crew will be celebrating its first anniversary next month and shirts are available on sale.
