Rotary, a global organization that has been working tirelessly to eliminate polio for over 35 years, has witnessed a remarkable reduction in polio cases by 99.9 percent since the inception of its vaccination projects in the Philippines in 1979.
The commitment to achieve a polio-free world has never wavered.
In line with this commitment, the Rotaract Club of Iseyin Pathfinder, in collaboration with the Oyo State/Iseyin Local Government Area (LGA) Polio Vaccination & Education Team and NYSC SDGs Corp members, organized a Polio Eradication Walk to commemorate World Polio Day. The event, held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, in Oja Oba, Iseyin, Oyo State, aimed to raise awareness about the significance of polio eradication.
This event provided an opportunity for direct engagement with the public, facilitating the spread of awareness about polio and its eradication. The walk also served as an educational platform for individuals to understand their pivotal role in preventing polio and contributing to a polio-free world.
