The training was conducted in conjunction with Debriche Health Development Centre, Institute of Human Virology Nigeria, Association for Reproductive and Family Health, and the FCT School Health Secretariat. This collaboration has enabled the training to reach more teachers in the FCT area councils, increasing awareness of the importance of tuberculosis prevention.

Teachers play a crucial role in molding the thoughts and ideas of children in their formative years. Educating teachers on the impact of Tuberculosis on education and the importance of prevention is a step towards promoting a healthier lifestyle for children. With this training, teachers can pass on the message of tuberculosis prevention and the necessity of checking any cough that has lasted for more than two weeks to their students, fostering a culture of awareness and sensitivity towards Tuberculosis.

The importance of raising awareness of Tuberculosis prevention cannot be overstated, as Tuberculosis is a major public health problem in Nigeria. The growth and development of Nigeria's educational system have been impeded by the prevalence of Tuberculosis among teachers and students.

As a result of the training, teachers in the FCT area councils are now better equipped with the necessary information to raise awareness about Tuberculosis and the crucial role that prevention plays in society.

This joint initiative to train teachers in the FCT area councils is a step towards achieving the goal of eradicating Tuberculosis in Nigeria.
