THE NAIRAXI, an indigenous high tech-powered mobility company has opened its e-registration portal for Nigerians to register for free transportation scheme.
The Public Relations Officer of NAIRAXI, Suleiman Abdullahi, stated this in a statement in Abuja.
The firm said millions of Nigerians have registered to obtain the Tinubu/Shettima-NAIRAXI Transit Card Initiative.
The statement said the Tinubu/Shettima-NAIRAXI Transit Card Initiative would provide a free/subsidised transportation scheme for Nigerians.
It added that the intervention would reduce the cost of transportation in Nigeria.
The statement reads: “The Tinubu/Shettima-NAIRAXI Transit Card Initiative is a self-sustaining programme for Nigerians developed by indigenous smart mobility company NAIRAXI with the goal of ameliorating the effects of the planned removal of fuel subsidy in June, next year.
“Registration commenced a few days ago when the official portal was shared and officially opened for interested Nigerians.
“The programme has been designed to benefit Nigerians. Many have insinuated that it was a strategy for vote-buying, while others understands that the free transportation scheme was a strategy adopted to reach out to the grassroots. Some have prayed that such a scheme could be extended beyond election period since it will solve a critical need which affects every Nigerian household.
“Note that after the cost of housing, the next most expensive item is transportation. So, solving this is quite commendable.
