Plans for a new David Beckham Netflix documentary are in place following an official announcement.

The Manchester United legend and Inter Miami co-owner also broke the news on Instagram.
David Beckham wrote: “I’m excited to confirm that I am partnering with @Netflix on a documentary series about my life and career … The series will feature unseen archive, untold stories as well as interviews with the people who have been a part of my journey. The series is directed and produced by Academy Award winners @fisherstevens and John Battsek. Watch this space…”
There has been no release date given just yet and the series remains untitled, but we know that it will cover Beckham’s life on and off the pitch, just like you would imagine.
Becks never shied away from the camera throughout his career but there were cases in his life that saw the media become problematic. It will be interesting to see if the documentary digs into that aspect of his life.
From marrying a world-renowned pop star and fashion icon to having boots flung at him across a dressing room, Beckham’s seen it all throughout his life and I would much prefer to watch this documentary over any Paul Pogba produces.
While we haven’t seen anything of the documentary yet, Netflix has produced some brilliant sports documentaries in the past, including The Last Dance and Sunderland ‘Til I Die.
