With increasing rates of girl-child education disenfranchisement and the complications Covid-19 has brought to the scene, girls face more harsh education disadvantage realities.
The long-term school lockdown has further widened the number of out-of-school girls. UNESCO has raised concerns that when school reopens, more girls will not be able to return to school.
To encourage a mass return to school by girls after the Covid-19 lockdown, DEAN Initiative through the ”Equal Potential for Girls Project - EP Girls Project” has identified the most vulnerable communities in FCT and given each girl returning to school weekly Hands Sanitizers gels to fight back the virus and other infections virus.
Over 1000 girls have benefited from 20 schools of the FCT. DEAN is using the Equal Potential for Girls Project to create a sustainable pathway for girls to explore their full potential.
