The 3 states - Lagos, Abuja, Ogun have being on lockdown for the past 14 days. Other states of the country are on partial lockdown with some governors announcing curfew of dusk to dawn.
The President said that the decision to extend the lockdown by 2 weeks was taken in order to curtail the spread of coronavirus disease in the country.
Shortly after the 14 days lockdown extension announced by the Federal Government, Nigerians took to social media platforms expressing their grievances on the broadcast.

Their major complains are based on payment of palliatives through Bank Verification Number - BVN. They want Federal Government to make cash transfer in form of palliatives to their different bank accounts through BVN to ease their financial and economic situation with a hashtag ‘#PayUsOurPalliativesViaBVN’ which is currently trending on Twitter.
Bank Verification Number commonly called BVN is a biometric identification system implemented by the Central Bank of Nigeria to curb or reduce illegal banking transactions in Nigeria. It is a modern security measure in line with the Central Bank of Nigeria Act 1958 to reduce fraud in the banking system.

@OTUNBAnks -
There are about 39million BVNs. It takes @NigeriaGov little or nothing to identify bank accounts having below #250k and then transfer at least #50k to it.
Moreover, @EUinNigeria just donated #22Billion today to supposedly assist Nigeria

There's hunger in the land @MBuhari The 14 days lockdown is necessary..... What is also necessary is to credit Nigerians through verified BVN. If people are hungry they might take to crime. So #payusviaBVN now!!!! #PayUsOurPalliativesViaBVN

The south west is the epicentre of this pandemic outbreak in Nigeria, but palliatives are being distributed in the north (cash and kind), can you see how tribalistic @MBuhari you've been. Tribalistic folks. #PayUsOurPalliativesViaBVN

Do you think is it possible to pay COVID-19 coronavirus palliatives through BVN? How viable is it?
