According to Yomiprof (via Wabetainfo), WhatsApp is developing a group invitation feature. It will be available globally in the nearest future.
With the yet to be official announced feature, users can automatically block other users from adding them to groups without their consent.
The new feature puts you in charge of joining only group you are interested in.
All users need do is change or pick their choice in the app privacy settings.
How The New Feature Will Work
- From the Settings menu, users can select the Groups option to change whether they can automatically be added to groups or not.
- Users can also choose between everyone, only their contacts, or nobody being able to add them to groups without permission.
- If the admin of a group is unable to automatically add a WhatsApp user to a group, that user will receive an invitation to join the group which expires after 72 hours.
