Ambassadors, Minister And Other Stakeholders Applaud Nigeria’s Art Industry

Innovation By Hanan, a 3-day photo exhibition by Hanan Buhari, daughter of Nigeria’s President, Mohammed Buhari, has attracted the applause of the international community as well as the high-level stakeholders in Nigeria.

For Hanan, the photo exhibition tagged ‘Innovation By Hanan’, was meant to show to the world Nigeria and Nigerians’ peaceful and hardworking features as well as to encourage young people to pursue what they are sincerely passionate about. Some of the pictures on display were deeply cultural revealing the conservative lifestyle of Northern Nigeria.

The opening event held on Friday, August 25, 2017, at the Thought Pyramid Art Center in Abuja. Gracing the event and reeling commendations to the artist were; the Norwegian Ambassador to Nigeria, Jens-Petter Kjemprud; Ecuadorian Ambassador, Leopoldo Rovayo; Iranian Ambassador, Morteza Rahimi Zarchi; wife of Brazilian Ambassador, Elza Lima and Hideki Sakamoto of the Japanese Embassy.

Obviously, has been bequeathed with lot of support by her family members – her mother, Wife of the President Hajia Aisha Buhari, her elder sister Zahra, her brother in-law Ahmed Indimi. Wife of the Vice President, Dolapo Osinbajo who witnessed the second day of the photo exhibition noted that the creative industry has lots of opportunities, yet to be explored by Nigeria.

In attendance also was Osita Okechukwu – Director-General, Voice of Nigeria (VON); Director-General for Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, Mr. Folorunsho Coker, Alhaji Nasiru Danu, wife of Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Zainab Atiku Bagudu and wife of Kogi State Governor, Mrs. Rashida Bello.

The curator, Jerry Buhari, a Professor of fine art at the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria expressed his admiration for the eminence in Hanan’s pictures, considering that “Hanan is bearing two years holding the camera.” Other prominent photographers in Nigeria also throw their support for Hanan; T.Y Bello, Bayo Omoboriowo, Haye Okon, Henry Oji Nwaeze, George Okoro among others.
