ECONOMIC HARDSHIP: ALL HANDS ON DECK - HON. ABAYOMI CHRISTOPHER ODUFUWA, CON (AARE AKEWEJE) APPEALS TO NIGERIANS

By Oyeniyi Esan

Following the country's outcry of high cost of living, Hon. Abayomi Christopher Odufuwa, Aare Akeweje of Makun kingdom, has appealed to Nigerians to be patient with the present administration that economic hardships remain a global issue, and measures and policies are underway to address the situation.

This was disclosed in Shagamu, Ogun state during an interactive session with journalists on Thursday, that the Tinubu-led administration has indicated plans to tackle the high rate of cost of living through proactive measures as a bid to honour his mandate on people's welfare and well-being.

According to him, " It is very important to note that the whole world is under economic pressure as developed countries are even readjusting their budgets to meet up with the demands. All governmental agencies are working tirelessly to address the issue, especially the place of the Naira at the foreign exchange market remains a cognitive point of attention, as the high exchange rate and inflation have seriously weakened all other aspects of our economy.

"This is the time that the billionaires in the country must equally take up leadership role in their different capacities, as a matter of necessity, to give back to the society in these critical times. I appeal to Nigerians, especially the youths, to be patient with the government and avoid the manipulation by political jobbers clamouring for nation-wide protests or any other form of demonstration that can weaken the smooth running of the country."
