FRIN Welcomes New Director General, Prof. Zachariya Buba Yaduma

The Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN) on Monday welcomed Prof. Zachariya Buba Yaduma as the new director general. 

Prof. Yaduma officially took over the mantle of leadership from Prof. Adeshola Adepoju, whose tenure ended in March, 2023.

Born and raised in Nigeria, Prof. Yaduma is a seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in forestry research. He graduated from the Federal College of Forestry, Ibadan, about forty years ago and has since devoted his career to sustainable forest management and research.

In his opening remarks, the new DG expressed his commitment to revamp the system and advocate for peace, unity, human and infrastructural development.

"I am honored to take over as the new director general of FRIN," said Prof. Yaduma. "I am fully committed to driving the organization to greater heights, and I believe that with the support of every member of staff, we can achieve our goals and objectives."

Prof. Yaduma's vast experience and expertise in the field of forestry research make him a valuable asset to FRIN. His appointment is a reflection of the institute's commitment to sustainable development and the advancement of Nigeria's forestry sector.
